概述

The Master of Science in 创新技术 is a 33-hour STEM 设计ated interdisciplinary program in the 金元淑美术学院 that emphasizes theory, 设计, and practice in the application of computer technology to traditional art, 音乐, 以及戏剧学科.

The program provides critical training and experiences that prepare graduates for careers in digital and interactive media production including: front-end web development, 视频制作, 现场表演的声音设计, 广播, 和多媒体, 平面设计, VR / AR / XR, digital 音乐 composition and production, game 设计 and emerging arts disciplines where basic knowledge of coding is required. 研究生s work for employers of all types including small businesses, 政府机构, and corporations and some are self-employed entrepreneurs.

The program is appropriate for students who have training in the arts, experience working with digital and interactive communication tools, or computer science with experience in the arts and interactive media. Many students have established careers in related fields and wish to enhance their knowledge of new technical tools and creative processes. The STEM 设计ation allows international students additional OPT benefits.

大学入学要求

A student applying to a master's program must:

  • have earned a four-year bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a college or university that is accredited by the appropriate regional accrediting association, 或者在一学年之内完成
  • present unofficial transcripts from each college or university other than 伊利诺斯州 at which graduate, 本科, 或者获得非学位学分. The unofficial transcript should be easily readable and clearly indicate degree(s) awarded, courses and course grades for each term. 提交 a portfolio consisting of 6-10 pieces of work, preferable as a website or online link in your resume.  Your work must be viewable on a Mac or PC.

Work may include any combination of the following:

研究生助教奖学金

The University provides graduate assistantships as a means of financial support. They are intended as a way to facilitate a student's progress to degree while providing important professional development.

资格

To be eligible for an assistantship a student must, generally,

  • be admitted unconditionally as a degree-seeking student into a graduate academic program, or have a minimum of 120 本科 hours if in an integrated degree program
  • 信誉良好
  • be enrolled full-time (typically at least 9 credit hours during the fall or spring semesters, or at least 6 hours during the summer session).

  • a waiver for 100% of tuition during a semester of appointment
  • a waiver for up to 12 credit hours of tuition for the summer term immediately following a fall or spring appointment
